New President to make training a priority
New BSPF president Stephen Booth said training in the industry was an important objective for his year of office.
"My main objectives over the coming 12 months are two fold. I am very keen to see a lot of progress linked to training and qualifications for our industry."
He said the federation had benefited from the work of ISPE (Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers) and the training by some member companies and from people such as Howard Gosling.
"We must now take this training to a new level which we plan to achieve through a nationally recognised qualification. You will hear more about this from Chris later.
"My second objective is to seek new members to join SPATA and BISHTA.
"Coming from Scotland I am aware of the need to reinforce the message to companies located a long way from Andover that they also need to be part of the BSPF family.
"Together, we can safeguard our industry from some of the poor practice by some non – member as this can tarnish us all."
