SPN hits Saturday night prime time TV!
You can’t stop spn (Swimming Pool News) magazine from raising its profile. The magazine was featured in the first episode of BBC1’s ‘101 Ways To Leave a Game Show’, the Saturday evening prime time programme hosted by Steve Jones.
Each week 8 contestants put their general knowledge to the test, hoping to make it through a series of rounds, in a bid to win a £10,000 prize. During each round the contestants face a single multiple choice question where all the answers... except one... are correct. That's the answer they are all trying to avoid; the problem is, it's not until they are moments away from exiting the show that one of the contestants discovers they have made the wrong choice. Then as the title suggests the loser leaves the game show in a over the top way.
‘Swimming Pool News’ was one of the answers to a show question about which magazines were published in the UK – in fact one of the two final answers which resulted in numerous mentions for the magazine. The effect of the programme was dramatic as statistics for the magazine’s website (which you are on now) increased more than 20 fold on the Saturday and remained much higher than normal for the following days too!
