Industry-Supported Continuous Professional Development
Following a call from its President John Cheek, FISPE, the ISPE has, over the last year or so, helped to organise a number of Industry-supported and free CPD training days with Certikin International, Pollet Pool Group (PPG) and Complete Pool Controls (CPC) all taking part in offering selected full-day or half-day training sessions.
This training is open to all but is particularly useful for those who have registered on the ISPE ‘Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Scheme’, as ‘Certificates of Attendance’ are provided by the participating companies, indicating either four or eight CPD points (according to the duration of the training).
The ISPE CPD Scheme was successfully launched at the recent SPATEX 2017 exhibition and is free-to-join for around eighteen months, after which time there will be a nominal annual registration fee (which will be reduced for ISPE and SPATA members).
Unlike ISPE seminars the free training sessions may be geared towards specific products (although the ISPE is not endorsing any product or service encountered during the course of the training sessions).
With PPG running sessions this week, next up are Gloucestershire based CPC who will be offering morning-only sessions on the subjects of Chemical dosing and Control Systems. Demonstrating their value, their Wednesday 22 March 2017 is already a sell-out but places are still available on Wednesday 19 April 2017. The session will consist of:
09.00 - 09.30 Coffee and registration
09.30 – 10.30 Dosing and control principles / considerations when selecting a system
10.30 – 10.45 Factory / warehouse tour
10.45 – 11.30 Dosing devices available
11.30 – 12.30 Health & Safety dosing related considerations
12.30 – 13.30 Lunch
These training sessions are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. To book your place, contact Linda Brueford 01242 662700 or email lbrueford@cpc-chemicals.co.uk and for further sessions and dates, visit the ISPE website.
For those companies who might be interested in participating, please contact the ISPE and let them know what you may be able to offer. The Institute will publicise the training events on the ISPE website, through the ISPE Magazine, during ISPE seminars and more.
