Award Leisure Nominated For Major Franchising Honour
Hot tub specialists Award Leisure have been shortlisted for the Emerging Franchisor of the Year Award at the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards, to be held at the Vox, Birmingham, on 27 June.
Founded by Mark and Amanda Anthony back in 1984, the outdoor luxury leisure business started in Warwickshire and has been franchising since 2016. It now has six franchised retail sites across the UK but remains a family-run operation.
Award Leisure is also looking to open two new stores in 2019 as it continues to sustainably scale up the business.
Jessica Anthony, Franchise Manager, stated: “We are so passionate about our business and the success of our franchisees, and we would love to grow further throughout the UK. It would be a tremendous achievement and such an honour if our family run business were to win Emerging Franchisor of the Year.”
A nomination in itself is a major achievement, proving the business works ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff, fighting off many other companies vying for the accolade.
Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchising Association (bfa), congratulated the company and said: “Award Leisure presented a business model that works and benefits the entire network, and I look forward to hearing more from the company in the next stage of the awards process – our panel presentation and Q&A.”
Andrew Brattesani, Head of Franchising at HSBC added: “Award Leisure has kept family run business values at heart, and has shown a real commitment to its franchisees and growing its brand since becoming a franchise in 2016.
“It fully deserves to be nominated for the Emerging Franchisor accolade, and I wish the company and the other nominees the best of luck come the awards night.”
They will go face-to-face against two other franchise units in June from sectors in domiciliary care and installations.
