Leisure Centre And Lido Operator Enters Into Administration
Fusion Lifestyle, which operates a network of leisure centres and swimming facilities across England, entered Administration on 1 April 2026 following a prolonged period of financial difficulty. Nadeem Sweiss and Adam Stephens of S&W Partners LLP were appointed as Joint Administrators.

Recognising the vital role leisure centres play in supporting community health and wellbeing, Fusion’s management, alongside S&W, have collaborated closely with local authorities to explore viable options for keeping facilities open. To avoid disruption to the public, many of the local authorities have agreed to a transition period, supporting the Charity in Administration while a new operator is secured to manage the leisure centres, ensuring key services remain open to the local community.

Most leisure centres will continue to operate, with customers and creditors being encouraged to check their local leisure centre’s website and social media channels for the latest updates.

Unfortunately, following careful consideration and consultation with the City of London, the leisure centre situated at Golden Lane Sports and Fitness Centre closed at the end of April. Other facilities, which remain open, are:
  • Brockwell Lido in London
  • Wycombe Rye Lido in Buckinghamshire
  • Newcastle City Baths
  • Six leisure centres in Devon
  • Five facilities including gyms and pools in the east of Somerset
  • Facilities in Cranbrook, Paddock Wood, Tunbridge Wells and Whistable, Kent
  • Centres in Loughborough, Syston and Mountsorrel in Leicestershire
The lido in Shepton Mallet will open in May as usual, while Somerset Council seek a new operator for its Fusion-run facilities in the county.

Lambeth Council said its own operator – Active Lambeth – would take over management of Brockwell Lido from 1 July.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council said Serco Leisure in partnership with Leisure Solutions Community Trust would take over management of its affected facilities once a handover date was agreed.

In Devon, Parkwood Leisure will take over a number of the affected sites after the council awarded a short-term contract.
