Contech show flexibility of concrete pools
The flexibility of concrete pool structures was shown to its best in a recent project which saw a deck level pool with a separate therapy pool scheme constructed by Contech UK.
The company, UK specialists in sprayed concrete technology, were working for Cheshire Wellness who in turn were contracted by Pochin Construction.
The brief was to install a shotcrete shell to BS8007 and the works comprised a freeform deck level pool, infinity edge spa and two balance tanks as well as a backwash holding tank. All the works were completed in 15 days.
The scheme for the pool and spa included a 20m x 6.5m/8.5m x 1.3m Pool with a separate therapy pool measuring 6.5m x 2.5m which had an Infinity edge detail to the front. Said Chris Benson from Contech: "We worked closely with the architects and client to finalise the designs and finishes specification. They needed a look that was modern but whilst also making sure it was not going to date and would be to a standard suited to that of a 5-Star Hotel which is the next phase of their project."
