Swimming Pool News takes over as 'official' magazine for the industry
Swimming Pool News is now the official magazine of the UK’s pool and spa trade.

Pool & Spa Industry, the business to business magazine owned by the British Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF) which raises funds for the industry through Pool Industry Promotions (PIP), is to be incorporated into Swimming Pool News.

The licence agreement for Go Publishing Ltd, the owners of Swimming Pool News to incorporate Pool & Spa Industry was signed in London late last week.

In a three year deal, PIP, the BSPF and Go Publishing will work together to increase funds from the publication for re-investment into the trade.

Swimming Pool News will remain editorially independent but will carry specific pages within the new magazine covering PIP, SPATA, BISHTA, BSPF and SPATEX events, news and views. The first joint issue will appear in March / April 2010 with issues being produced six times a year.

In a similar deal, the BSPF’S consumer title Pool & Spa Lifestyle will be also be incorporated into What Pool & Hot Tub, the consumer title owned by Go Publishing Ltd which will publish its fifth consecutive issue in May next year.

The merging of the two industry titles into Go Publishing's already established magazines means that Waterland will no longer be involved in publishing for the BSPF.

Jamie Adams, PIP Chair and Managing Director of Golden Coast is delighted to secure this new agreement. "With a three year deal to come into effect from 1st February 2010, this will provide a secure income stream for PIP to carry out its work to promote the industry and brings with it a new partner to assist us in promoting the vital work of PIP and the BSPF within our industry."

Tony Weston, co-publisher of Swimming Pool News added: "The merger of Pool & Spa Industry with Swimming Pool News is great news for advertisers and readers alike. Through editorial we will offer readers unbeatable coverage of the industry, all in one publication. Advertisers will benefit from now being able to target the whole industry via one magazine. All this, plus the knowledge that supporting Swimming Pool News will have a financial benefit to the trade, alongside great packages that deliver real value for money. There has never been a better time to advertise in Swimming Pool News."

In addition to the above license developments, representatives for Go Publishing Ltd will soon be meeting Oxfordshire based Bottle PR, the newly appointed sole PR company for the industry due to start work in January, along with PIP to discuss how best to promote the industry to both the trade and consumers alike.
